Order of moves

Holding one fixed sequence across a long stretch where several things are live at once: the decision, then what it costs and who it costs, then the part that is still open. Each piece is easier to say in its place than out of it, and swapping two of them turns an announcement into a negotiation nobody agreed to have.
How to spot it
After a hard conversation, write the three parts in the order they actually came out. If the cost arrived before the decision, that is where the room went.
