Relational transparency

Σχεσιακή διαφάνεια

Showing the people you work with the actual state of your own thinking, including its limits, rather than a finished version of it. In the leadership literature it is one of the named components of authentic leadership, which is why saying the size of a gap counts as a described move and not as the absence of one.

How to spot it

Listen back to your own last "I do not know": did it carry a size and a date, or did it stop at the fact?

The research behind the term

The term is not our invention. It comes from published research, and what follows is what that research found — our own synthesis of the published abstract, not a translation of the original.

Northouse, P. G. (2021). Leadership: Theory and Practiceπηγή

Northouse presents the most important contemporary theories of leadership, such as transformational, transactional, servant and authentic leadership. The book combines theory with practical applications, making it one of the most widely used university textbooks in the field of management.

Practised in

The term does not stay a definition. It appears inside missions where the pattern happens in real time and you have to recognise it as it happens to you.
