Showing the people you work with the actual state of your own thinking, including its limits, rather than a finished version of it. In the leadership literature it is one of the named components of authentic leadership, which is why saying the size of a gap counts as a described move and not as the absence of one.

Listen back to your own last "I do not know": did it carry a size and a date, or did it stop at the fact?
